Fall Season 2025
What threads together the events below is a shared invitation: to gather, to move, to practice, and to be with one another.
This list is not all-inclusive. There is always more happening in our communities than can fit here, or than what comes into our inbox.
These times remind us how important it is to show up in our bodies, with each other, in community. Movement and practice root us, and being together sustains us.
We need one another—now.
In movement,

Group Shake
Type: Practice, Community Gathering
Dates: 10/6, 10/31, 11/15, 12/1
Locations :
10/6 - ADF
10/31 - Duke East Campus , The Ark
Description : Group Shake is a collective solo durational practice. We come together to tend to our own bodies, in community. It offers an alternative to ecstatic dance for those interested in movement without touch or interaction with others. We shake and move to music over an extended period, focusing on shaking and rocking, allowing the body to move naturally—free from concerns about appearance, skill, or rhythm. While it may resemble dancing, the true intention is to release tension and energy. This practice promotes circulation, supports the nervous system, enhances overall health, and fosters a sense of community.
